I am so excited about this latest project.  I am entering several of my photos to Capture Cincinnati, a collaborative project to capture the true essence of Cincinnati through photos.  But I need your votes.  Please check out my profile, choose your favorite photos…and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE.  It’s my goal to have at least one photo in this book.

We are so excited to be hosting our first annual Custest Dog Contest!  So excited that I couldn’t wait to blog and tell you a lil bit about it.

First, it will be held in July.  Second, the grand prize is a goodie basket full of awesome gifts from some of our favorite pet vendors in Cincinnati.  Third, a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Cincinnati SPCA.

We will be announcing more information in the coming weeks, including how to enter and who is sponsoring the event.  So keep dropping by!

What a busy weekend.  It started with us dropping off Tom & Jerry at their new digs.  Then Saturday was Dogfest.  Matt spent the entire day at the event with Bark Ark showing off Willow.  I didn’t make it there until about 3:30, so I made my rounds as quick as I could with Addison and our good friend Heather and her yellow lab, Samoa (like the girl scout cookie.)  We had a lot of fun and talked to a lot of nice people.

Then on Sunday, Matt and I spent the entire afternoon cleaning the house and mowing the yard for a cookout.  But it was all in vain!  It rained making the back yard useless.  And we ended up spending all of our time on the screened-in back porch…so no one really got to see how nice and clean my house is.

And now here I sit, blogging…when I should be balancing our accounts.  Sigh!  Ok…well, let me at least leave you with a few photos that I snapped tonight at our cookout.

This is Ivy being the sweet and wonderful dog that she is.  She makes me so proud.

And this is Ivy getting very excited that we were all eating hamburgers and hot dogs.

Then Dylan spotted a lil mouse hanging out just outside of our back porch.

But there was apparently something wrong with this mouse…cuz it really didn’t care when Matt picked it up.

No worries though.  We just moved the mouse away from the house.  No mice were injured during the taking of these photos!

I am so excited about finding a home for our foster cats, Tom & Jerry.  We’ve had the tabby twins for about 10 months now.  They are the sweetest cats ever…but in a small house with 2 cats & 2 dogs of our own (not to mention foster dogs) keeping them was just not an option.  So after nearly a year of searching…we finally found these boys a great home.

Matt and I took Tom & Jerry to live with their new parents Terri & Larry out in Milford this evening.  Terri & Larry were so excited and welcomed them in with open arms.  The boys have their own special room with new toys and beds.  And they have a great view of the birds in the backyard.  I’m so glad that they finally have a home that can truly make them a priority.  We’ll miss the lil furballs…but this is by far the best thing for them.
