Matt and I have (hopefully) finally settled down with a second cat. We had attempted to adopt an older outdoor cat from my parents’ farm back in Illinois, but that didn’t work out so well. She was not happy being here…and we weren’t particularly happy to have her hear. So the cat went back to live with my mom and the new kitten purred her way into our home.
Her name is Sophie. She’s about 4 and 1/2 months old. She’s spunky, sweet, and ornry. And she has no idea what to think of our other critters (even Wolfy). Here is her first photo. I’m sure many more will eventually be posted.

First, my Wolfy update: He is healthy and home. Two very good things. He was released from the CARE Center tonight around 7pm with some bland food and instructions to keep a very close eye on him. They believe his digestive system is still on track, but it’s always good to be cautious. He seems to be content to be home, laying at my feet.
Secondly, I went to see “The Dark Knight” tonight and let me just tell you…it’s AWESOME!!  I was honestly worried that with all the hype it was getting that it was going to be a big let down for me. Matt saw it earlier this week and has had a hard time not talking to me about it. So going in hearing the word Oscar mentioned several times can really set your expectations high. Well, it did not disappoint. One nice thing about all the hype, however, is that I was not nearly as creeped out by the Joker as I thought I would be. I kept hearing about how dark and creepy Heath Ledger’s portrayal of him was (and it is). But I hadn’t heard much about how funny he was. So I was not disturbed leaving the theater, which is always a good thing.
Oh…and is it just me or does Eric Roberts just get creepier and creepier?

My beloved Wolverine is currently at the CARE Center in Blue Ash. Last night he hacked up a hairball with what looked like a bunch of rubber bands. Then we noticed that he was making painful meows. We found a few more spots where it looked like he had gotten sick and so we decided to take him to the emergency vet.
Two hours and $555 later, he is still at the hospital and being given fluids and anti-nausea medication to see if his disgestive system is still normal and not obstructed by rubber bands. We are still completely baffled as to where these rubber bands came from. We searched the entire house and could not find anything that would’ve had a bunch of rubber bands on or around it.
We called the hospital first thing this morning and they said that he seems to be doing better and it looks like his digestive system is moving along like normal. With any luck he will be able to come back home later on tonight. I will keep you all posted on his progress.
