Meet Jada - Our Foster Pup!
Cats: News
Hey guys, Matt here…
We are fostering a pup through Pet Connection - www.KY.Petfinder.com and are looking for a permanent and stable home for her!
She’s a little sweetheart. My wife and I adopted her mother, Ivy, from Pet Connect in January and jumped at the chance to foster one of Ivy’s pups. Ivy (Jada’s mom) is about a year and a half old and is a mellow, mild tempered dog who is extremely loyal. Ivy is definately the “Alpha” of our two dogs, but is very submissive to humans. She lays by our side on the couch all the time and follows us around the house. Jada looks just like her with the exception of a little bit longer snout and tail.
Jada has a great personality. She’s extremely loving and is a very well behaved pup for being 5 months old. She’s really curious, as all pups are. However, I’ve begun to work with her on basic commands and she is extremely smart and learning quickly. She seems to be pretty well potty trained. Only one accident in the house so far, and that was because we forgot to take her out so it wasn’t really her fault.
She spends her nights in a crate, and doesn’t have any accidents in there. However, she is very vocal for the first 20-30 minutes of each trip to the crate, whining and whimpering to try and get our attention to let her out. This has gotten better, but still happens sometimes. Eventually she chills out and falls asleep. I think this will mellow w/age with some positive reinforcement of her time in the crate.
We have two cats and Jada is still not sure about them. Our cats are runners though, so when they are approached from a dog, they just take off. Being a dog, she of course plays chase. I don’t think she has any aggression to cats at all, just a curiosity that she can’t get answers to. We have not had her around small children yet. She is excitable and jumps some, but I think that she is small enough that she would not cause any problems kids.
Here’s a few pictures of her - If you’re interested in this sweet little girl, please call Matt @ 513-508-4663. There is an adoption fee - Call for details.
